Welcome

It was during my first visit to the islands of Hawai’i that I was introduced to the term Island Time. Locals used it to describe a relaxed approach to life; a slowing down that was not only accepted but essential to their health and well-being.

I’ve thought about that many times in the years since my visit. Life took me through terrain I could never have anticipated. Detours that felt like demoralizing delays proved themselves to be critical components of my own growth and development.

The detours, it turns out, were not delays after all.

So, after many twists and turns, when the moment finally arrived to create and name this comic strip, Island Time was patiently waiting.
